My principal sources of information are Web sites -> links .
But nothing can replace our good and old books :
> Technologie de l'automobile vol 1 et 2
- G. Maillard, Ed. Educalivre - It is in these books which I learned what is a carburettor, the
advance with lighting, combustion... Essential if, like me, you begin in mechanics. These two works are specialy designed for students in repairing mechanic.
> VW 1600 Transporter Ed. Haynes
- It is absolutely necessary to have it. And if one is not too strong in English, there is a brilliant glossary.
> Revue Technique automobile Volkswagen
Coccinelle (type 1) Utilitaires (type 2) depuis 1968 Ed. ETAI
- The advantage compared to Haynes: he is in French. Disavantage: much briefer, it does not have there the invaluable councils that we can find in the Haynes.
> Super VW magazine - It is not the sorrow to present it, one cannot make without, it is a
monthly source of courage and motivation. A little like a box
vitamins. Only one small reproach: where are the combis according to
1968 in this magazine? (But if, y' in A full in photograph in the
small-ads pages)
> Super VW Tech - I have only the last two numbers, but the technical articles are very
well made. I will be obliged to buy the following...
And especially :
> My big red sorter - It is where I classified many the articles of the section maintains
the site www.flat4ver.com, printed on good paper, because I makes use of it very often. I read them and read again, before even having a combi. I also put at it the electric diagrams of the two buses, part of the microfiches, many articles found on the Internet ->
links. It is my bible.
And special thanks :
> to all my family to have supported and have shared this new passion,
> to my brother for his priceless assistance,
> to the writers and all those which manage and make live www.flat4ever.com, and all the other websites ->
links
> to all those which lent to me a key facom of 19 per Ci, one tears
off noyeux by there, a transpallet, all these tools which make
possible in a few minutes what would take hours with fu..ing tools...
> to Stéphane for the loan of its bottle the Mig one during "a few days", then "a few weeks" and which finally lasted two months, like for its councils and encouragements,
> to Christophe and Teo de Teoz racing bus,
> to Eurocox of Bordeaux and Simili in Coutras, for their councils,
> and to all the air-cooled enthusiasts..
